Charity SupportJOURNEYMAN is proud to support to the following charities. Breast Cancer UKBreast cancer is the second most common cancer in the UK after non-melanoma skin cancer and over 44,100 new cases are diagnosed every year. Breast cancer claims the lives of 12,500 women each year in the UK. Men can also get breast cancer but it is rare (around 335 cases are diagnosed each year). The good news is, thanks to earlier detection and improved treatment , breast cancer death rates in the UK have fallen by a fifth over the last ten years. Of those women diagnosed with breast cancer today, two-thirds are likely to survive for at least 20 years. The NSPCC's workWe have 177 community-based projects and run the Child Protection Helpline and ChildLine in the UK and the Channel Islands. Most of our work is with children, young people and their families . We also work to achieve cultural, social and political change - influencing legislation, policy, practice , public attitudes and behaviours and delivering services for the benefit of young people. WheelPowerEach year many thousands of men, women and children become disabled due to an
accident or illness. WheelPower is the national charity for wheelchair sport and
helps these people and many others with disabilities to achieve their sporting
dreams. Ray Moore, Action International, Business CoachRay has foolishly been roped into a 10k run (yes, that's 10 kilometres or over
6 miles in old money) to raise money for Cancer Research which is a great
charity. |
